Collam is argument mapping tool for individuals and groups. It facilitates reaching a well-informed and thoughtful consensus on complex questions.

Collaboration happens by creating, editing, and sharing argument mapping files. At any moment a new root statement or question can be added to the map (Menu: edit > Add Statement/Question).

By sharing the files, others can contribute by making changes, reviewing arguments, or voting on statements. The original editor can import and merge these contributions. It is possible to revert one or more of their changes. To revert or review these changes, enable viewing the ‘Events’. The best way to share is to share a file created by ‘Copy flatten as’. This way, multiple edits are flattened to single edits and timestamps are flattened to a single timestamp.

The file menu has a ‘create example’ option, which helps learning creating argument maps.

    Unique mapping features:

    • Automatic calculation of confidence ranges
    • Confidence voting system
    • Adding arguments on the arrow between premise and conclusion. This is needed because a premise can be true without having a valid contribution to the conclusion
    • Coloring that represents the calculated confidence range

  • Coming soon: Collam

Collam will be the first Collaborative Knowledge tool. It will be available in the Windows Store.
